MCHAPS Meeting

May 13, 2019 @ 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

On Monday May 13th, from 6:00 until about 7:00 p.m. Sherrill Williams will present a program based on research material that has come in to the Meade County Museum. It will include Melvina King and Lucy Hamilton, both of whom were enslaved Meade County citizens. This presentation will include mention of the John T. Cox family, Sue Mundy, Billy Magruder and Henry Metcalf and a family connection to Frank and Jesse James. Artist and author Sherrill Williams is a member of ATHS, MCHAPS and the Quantrill Association. He sits on the board of several museums, and volunteers at the Hardin County, West Point, and Meade County museums. Sherrill is a retired history teacher from North Hardin high school and the author of “Uncorked!,” a biography of basketball and baseball star, Corky Withrow.

All MCHAPS meetings are free and open to the public. Donations to the museum upkeep are always welcomed.
